What we hope + how to help

I love that Jesus did so much of his training on the go. It was hands on the plow moving forward into treasured fields. More than ever, I am convinced that going out into the community is hands on training and activation. I can't fast forward to the things I would like to see, but I can share what we hope to do.
Here is what we are doing:
Creating relationships with local shelters to push in to their good work by hosting events. Read about our events in prior blogs.
Staying in those places by consistently building relationships, connecting with their people. Sharing meals etc. Connecting with the people God highlight and encouraging them to get into a church, listening, and just meeting needs as we go and can.
Here is what we hope to do:
Mobile, pop-up church in parks, parking lots, and street corners.
We connect with churches in the local area. They help us to supply donuts and people. We share the gospel, baptize, and point them to the local church we partner with in the area.
Pop-up VBS. Jesus is coming after this next generation, and I want to be a part of it. I don't like the idea of the sideline. Participation in the work of the ministry is so exciting. We want to bring VBS to kids in the area at no cost. We want bounce houses, and Kona Ice, and rock-climbing walls. Many of the kids on the outskirts don't get opportunities like this. We want to infuse fun and share the gospel.
Church pick-up. So many people we are finding don't have transportation. Not many churches are on a bus line.
Moving teams to help families that move out of shelters move into their new homes -- we want to then point them to a local church in the area. We want to connect the teens to a youth group.
Bible Studies in the shelters.
Youth nights in the shelters.
Backyard BBQ's in not your average backyard.
The biggest hope -- affordable housing. Building more apartments that are owned and financed by the local church. Can you imagine? I can.
Can you imagine the movement we could start if we came together?
So how can you help with this?
We have some very tangible needs in every place we go.
Follow us to see where we go next that way you can fulfill the needs on our list. Those items can include crafts, decor, food, etc.
We need people. We always need people. If you could provide your time to what we have next and serve.
If you are a leader in a local church, we need your church. Help with the list of items. Help promote our outreaches and "stay ministries" (stay ministry means our permanent presence within a shelter or other organization to continually share Jesus) Encourage your people to get involved.
If you are an out-of-state church, we can help you plan a mission trip to New York and help serve our community.
Talk to your church about us.
Let us come share at your church and open it up for people to join TDM.
Let us host the "Go and SOW" workshop @ your church.
Big wants:
We would love our own bounce house.
Tents (we always need tents)
Drinking Trough for horses so we can baptize people.
